The best Old Bay Seasoning substitute

The iconic Old Bay blend of herbs and spices is often associated with seafood. But this homemade substitute for Old Bay Seasoning is also delicious on popcorn, roasted potatoes, eggs and salads.

(or red pepper flakes)

Instructions
Place all the ingredients in a spice grinder and blitz until fine.
Store it in an airtight container. It will last up to a year.
Notes
If your spice cabinet is not overflowing like mine, try the
two-ingredient substitute
for Old Bay. Or one of the shop-bought alternatives on the
list of substitutes

Or, if you have a fully stocked spice cabinet but no spice grinder, try the
Old Bay substitute recipe with ground ingredients
only.
You can make your own
celery salt
or add two teaspoons of celery seeds and one teaspoon of salt to replace the tablespoon of celery salt.
